1) Acceptance - Take Cover
2) Snow Patrol - Run
3) Ben Folds - Landed
4) The Gates Of Berlin - Don't Mean Nothin
5) The Gates Of Berlin - Hope It Rains All Day

The Gates of Berlin are a local Atlanta band..not big...yet. You should check them out. They are dang good for not being known. Linkage

Beck - Guero
Audioslave - Out Of Exile
2 Skinnee J's - Sexy Karate

The Audioslave offering is better than I originally thought - just takes a few listenings to get into it. And I really wish I had followed 2SJ's when they were still in tact.

Waiting for the first full release from a band called Medications (2/3 of the band Faraquet who opened for Fugazi several years ago) that shows some serious promise. Their site is http://www.medicationsband.com and has a couple of demos.

311 should also have a new album out in July or August.

Hey techfan, is the new Ben Fold's album any good? I am a big fan, but because he packaged the album with a DVD, I can't find it anywhere for less than $15.

If you don't mind, whenever you get around to listening to the Weezer album, how about posting a blurb about what you think of it. I might pick that one up.

Picked the new System of a Down and can't get it out of my head. Really good all the way through. Not what I expected it to be.

Whoever posted the Weezer review, I agree 100% with you on that. Good stuff.

Also listening to

Muse "Absolution"
Queens of the Stone Age "Lullabies to Paralyze"

I saw them twice on their "F U we Quit Farewell Tour" in 2003. My cousin got me hooked on them when they came around here. Like you, I wish I would have heard about them earlier. Great live shows.

AudioSlave Out of Exile

I bought it a couple of days after it hit the shelves and I think I may like it better than the original.
Its a great CD.

I was always a huge Soundgarden fan, I like Rage but not as much, but Audio Slave is one of the best bands of the past few years IMO.

04-rock

- PirateTreasureNC - 06-05-2005 02:34 AM

Who is Z-ro and Tre?

Yo moto that is a pretty OG collcetion there....but Ozzy seems so out of place in your listing!!! BTW I got his 2 cd greatest hits....prettty good collection from a passive Ozzy fan. I love that song from whoever rap group it is that sampled Crazy Train.

I laughed when you said the Bravery, but my sister has since turned me on to them. I thought they were some "scrEMO" band. Boy was I wrong. Good stuff. I also find it disheartening that a lot of bands I like turn up on the OC soundtrack, the Gilmore Girls soundtrack, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, chick flick soundtracks, etc...... I'm also getting into dance remixes of Madonna classics, if that means anything. Wilco's sweet too.

This week has been revistings some old new stuff

Velvet Revolver's cd
Helmet: Size Matters
Ludacris: Red Light District
Nelly: Sweat and Suit

and some old old stuff
Guns N Roses: Appetite For Destruction and the Use Your Illusions
Genious/GZA: Liquid Swords
Wu Tang Clan: Enter the 36 Chambers and Wutang Forever.
Nirvana: Nevermind
Biohazard: Urban Discipline
THe Black Crowes: Southern Harmony and Musical Companion and Shake your Money Maker.*

*If you liked their first 2 cds and thought they fell off welll #3 was Amorica and was ok, #4 was THree Snakes and One Charm... fair, then they did #5 By YOur Side prety good--somwhere between their best and ok, then they have #6 Lions which sounds closer to Shake YOur Money Maker and is a defiantely good enough to go get.
