The Georgia Bulldogs got a triple dose of bad news on Monday.

Starting offensive tackle George Foster, a senior from Macon, dislocated his wrist in an automobile accident on his way back to Athens over the weekend. He is expected to be out 12 weeks.

Foster wrecked his car on the Madision bypass of Highway 441 on Saturday. No other details were immediately available.

Foster underwent surgery Sunday morning at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta and doctors inserted pins into his wrist.

Foster's loss affects one of the positions the Bulldogs could least afford injuries. Senior Kareem Marshall will probably move into Foster's starting position. All-America candidate Jon Stinchcomb starts at the other tackle position. The Bulldogs only other reserve tackls are redshirt freshmen Dennis Roland Jr. and Reggie Weeks and incoming freshmen Daniel Inman and Max Jean-Gilles.

"I know this is very difficult for George, who is entering his senior year," Georgia coach Mark Richt said. "He's been a very valuable member of the Georgia offensive line and would have been one of three senior tackles in the game rotation this season."

Meanwhile, Marquis "Mudcat" Elmore, a highly-regarded signee from Charlton County High School, will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair a herniated disc in his back. Elmore, who was expected to contend for playing time at defensive end or linebacker, has had a chronic lower back condition, according to Ron Courson, UGA director of sports medicine.

The Dogs lost another recruit Monday. Freshman defensive end Aaron Scranton of Buford has decided to leave the team to pursue a career in professional kick boxing.

Scranton, the MVP of the Georgia-Florida High School All-star Game in December, told Georgia coach Mark Richt of his decision on Sunday after mulling over his future for several months.<hr /></blockquote>

I had no idea... <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" /> I thought that kickboxing was just something that some women did to keep in shape! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" /> But seriously...sounds like some bad breaks (no pun intended <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> ) for UGA... I guess it's a good thing that the only thing I like about UGA is Uga, huh? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" />
