- 10MAN - 09-12-2002 12:17 AM after a long, fruitful career with the Rams. I guess he wanted to throw the ball too bad, not receive. http://msn.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/pasquarelli_len/1430682.html - hoops13 - 09-12-2002 08:32 AM Good to see him go out near the top. Sometimes guys just aren't made to play in the NFL. But he sure was a college superstar. He was amazing to watch! - Tasha - 09-12-2002 02:57 PM How could he not even try it out? Tasha - nate jonesacc - 09-12-2002 03:06 PM That is so dumb, IMO. Make a few million dollars riding the bench, THEN retire! - JD Heel - 09-12-2002 03:14 PM Nate: While you might think it is dumb, perhaps Mr. Crouch does not. I don't purport to know his thinking in all of this, but perhaps he's not the type of kid who values jerking other people around just to "make a few million dollars." If he truly does not want to play football, then I think he's a standup guy for admitting that and not wasting anyone's time about it. Just my opinion.... -JD - hoops13 - 09-12-2002 04:48 PM I respect Eric for his decision. He had an awesome career at Nebraska that included winning the Heisman! Not every good college football player will/or wants to play pro ball for the rest of his life. It seems Eric faced the facts that he probably wasn't going to be a big time NFL player, so he decided to get out of the game on top. Now he can continue his life and get a job elsewhere and maybe start a family or just chill for a while. Sometimes these athletes get so caught up in the game that they don't enjoy life, their family, or their experiences. So IMO.... Eric Crouch - nate jonesacc - 09-12-2002 07:10 PM
quote:
Originally posted by JD Heel: Nate: While you might think it is dumb, perhaps Mr. Crouch does not. -JD

I know, I was trying to be ironic.
