I had a UT server running on a linux box before. even had an irc reporter bot. - faet - 05-25-2006 12:38 AM it doesnt *need* but... i do believe there are some security issues with linux ut (and servers)... ive run one (lan) and had no problems... just make sure you disable uhhh.... /secure requests in one of the files somewhere (not near a comp with ut) its a good opening to get BOFed in... gg gamespy. (BOF works in windows/linux) anyway, run quake3... ET normaly has too many n00bs... me: "I need ammo!" *looks at you* me: "I NEED AMMO!" *?????* *dies* him: "REVIVE REVIVE REVIVE!" then you get campers like GTS AllAboutPentiumz (AIM) I got a perch high up with a full stock of ammo day of defeat server would be hot... any game where you can beat ppl with a shovel outweights the fact that it doesnt run linux. - georgia_tech_swagger - 05-25-2006 12:40 AM It's gonna be Enemy Territory if we do it, b/c it's free... it's on Win/Lin ... tons of people play it .... and it doesn't require "training" to play... and it's relatively light on how recent the graphics card you need. - faet - 05-25-2006 12:53 AM http://www.3dgamers.com/games/wolfensteinet/downloads/ untill gts hosts... or i could on college website... yea ill do that... they got too much bandwidth. - Lethemeul - 05-25-2006 06:55 AM I'm in. I'm one of the n00bs faet was talking about, but I'm in. I'll be fun to blow up at least. - jrhessey - 05-25-2006 07:10 AM I'll give it shot... - Tulsaman - 05-25-2006 09:17 AM why not. - techfan4 - 05-25-2006 02:17 PM In. - georgia_tech_swagger - 05-25-2006 02:22 PM How about a test tonight at 9:00 PM Eastern? - Tulsaman - 05-25-2006 02:23 PM where do i get this? - Lethemeul - 05-25-2006 02:27 PM georgia_tech_swagger Wrote:How about a test tonight at 9:00 PM Eastern? - GrayBeard - 05-25-2006 02:30 PM What does all this mean? Sounds like fun. How do I play? HELP ME! - Lethemeul - 05-25-2006 02:34 PM ET Homepage (I think) - georgia_tech_swagger - 05-25-2006 02:38 PM Download for Windows/Linux/OS X: http://www.3dgamers.com/games/wolfensteinet/downloads/ If using Windows, be sure you download both wolfet.exe and et-2.60b.zip The zip file is to update Enemy Territory to the latest version. You will likely *have to* do that, or PunkBuster (anti-cheat big brother) will boot you from the server. - GrayBeard - 05-25-2006 02:42 PM Is all this stuff free? - Tulsaman - 05-25-2006 02:42 PM probably should update to the new patch huh. |
