Virginia Tech suprised alot of people last season with an excellent season for them. Tech came in picked 10th or 11th in the ACC and ended up 4th! Hoki Hoki Hoki Hi! Tech upset then #7 Duke at home, beat Georgia Tech in Atlanta, and ended up with a very good 16-14 season with an
8-8 record in conference.

This season, returning practically the entire team, Tech has high expectations, and could very possibly make the NCAA Tournament.

I aint talkin about that weird pointy ball sport!

Duke wins with help of refs.....again.... - cyberobb99 - 12-16-2005 10:42 PM

Tell me I'm not right about this. VT goes up on Duke and the clock is stopped, then reset to 1.6 seconds. Duke inbounds to a player at halfcourt and the clock should start as soon as he touches it. He catches the ball, turns, takes two steps w/ a dribble, jumps up a little and shoots the ball which travels half the length of the floor before going in, at which point the buzzer goes off. All in 1.6 seconds? Tell me the timekeeper wasn't a little tardy on the start......Tech won that game eveywhere but at the scorer's table. What's done is done, and the score is in the books.....but it will be interesting to see if Duke goes down in B'burg again.

The formula appears as thus to beat duke:

1. Force them into a low-scoring game: Make the Dookies miss shots, and play an aggresive, physical game

2. Harass JJ: If you can get Redick to lose his focus, and to get into foul trouble, then you put their best weopon on the bench

3. Outrebound them: If you win the boards, you win the game. Last year, Collins beat Williams time and again, grabbing 18 rebounds

Duke will lose again in Blacksburg

W & M up tonight...another little stepping stone.... - cyberobb99 - 12-27-2005 06:45 PM

....on our way to another respectable season. We've struggled in recent years v. the Tribe...but not this year! A couple more OOC wins and a .500+ conference record and we'll be pushing 20 wins for the first time in years and an NCAA bid for gravy!

Laettner's signature is kinda ironic. That's what it took for Duke to beat us in their house. Of course, our season hasn't gone too well after that unfortunately. At 10-7, our NCAA dreams are all but dashed. Even the NIT at this point is iffy at best.

Yeah, even lowly FSU beat ya in basketball... 04-rock

Do the Hokie STOMP !! 05-mafia

14-16 (4-12). What a sad season. Hopefully next year will see marked improvement.

I don't like Greenberg. He doesn't seem like the type of coach you want as the face of this team. We lost a stretch of 4 games by like a combined 6 pts. Over the course of those 4 games, Greenberg had 3 T's. There's your 6 pts. Plus, he's got that problem about complaining about the refs (which fans can do but is a no-no for coaches and players). Finally, did anyone see the CT cover with him tearing his tie off as he stomred off the court? What type of respectable coach does that? I may have only been a follower for one year, but if this is what I see, then we're definitely not heading in the right direction regardess of how much talent we have.

The scorer's table does not operate the clock in play. They set the time if it is wrong and add the score but they do not start or stop it during play.
