Just want to gauge how many people stop by this board to ever check if there is anything new here. I'll admit that I don't really ever come to the SMU board here, but I'd like to get it active if possible.

I check in from time to time, wanted to make a more concerted effort to dialogue with other CUSA schools as well as those in transition. I'm a UAB fan first and foremost, but Conference USA and its' representatives are my primary sports fascination.

Welcome, Matrix. I've got a lot of respect for the UAB program. It's too bad that the UA system keeps blocking your stadium plans. I have family that lived in Hoover up until a few years ago, so I'm somewhat familiar with Birmingham as a city.
Though SMU will move on after this year, I'll continue to follow CUSA since I've enjoyed the dialogue with the CUSA fans on this board.

Thank you, "Cal-Al" I live right on the southeastern border between Hoover and Birmingham. I hope the Ponies stampede thru the Big East, I'm a big fan of June Jones, he was once head coach of my Atlanta Falcons, but had to deal with a headache of a QB in Jeff George. After what the NCAA did to SMU back in the day, it would be the ultimate triumph to see the Mustangs go into the Big East and emerge as champions. I will return here from time to time to continue the rapport, I've enjoyed at least trying to establish some communicado with other collegiate fan cultures, it's been invigorating and very enlightening.

Just June making more lame@$$ excuses. . . As much as I hate saying this. I hope SMU & Hawaii both have lousy seasons in football. SMU says bye bye to June. June takes the job in Hawaii. And SMU finds a coach who wants to be at SMU.
Look at what Larry Brown has done at SMU. Has a passion to teach young kids, loves being at SMU, and has united the SMU & casual Dallas fanbase. Man is 73, has the drive and passion of someone who is 43.
