Very OT/Why did the RNC have Clint Eastwood talk'n 2 a empty chair... - Maize - 08-30-2012 09:22 PM

Bad management by the Romney folks. They usually ask speakers for a preview copy of the speech--once in a while a party heavyweight will say "Bleep you, I was the bleeping president of the United States". I can't imagine what staffer saw that and didn't suddenly realize that they had to reschedule and cut Eastwood to 30 seconds or so.

That's what you get when you forget to ask from what party the video editing crew is voting for. 05-ban

Nobody has anything of importance to say at these conventions anyway, may as well make a mockery of it.

I felt bad for Dirty Harry...even though I am a Democrat but watching that just dropped my jaw.

I knw this is the General Sports Board & we have a political board but was just stunned by it.

I thought it was funny. The thing that struck me was that he seemed a lot like his character in "Ford Torino" (minus the racist streak of course). Whatever your opinion-----I thought it was enjoyable if for no other reason than it was the first spontaneous unscripted thing anyones seen at a convention in the last 30 years.

I don't really care what anyone does at these conventions. I knew who I would vote for months ago. No sales job by either side will change my vote.

Symbolic of course, an empty chair reflects Obama's empty promises and the void in leadership of the USA.
Can't believe no body figured this out.

I normally do not discuss politics on here, because it usually causes hard feeling. But you asked. So I will tell you why, because it has bee empy now for almost four years in opinion. I am a democrat the backed Hillary Clinton. However, when we ran a socialist, I voted Republican. Until we quit running socialist, I will keep voting Rebuplican. The empty chair was a good prop for the lack of leadership OBama has shown.

Sorry i disagree. It was dumb,it made Clint look senile and did not serve to set up Romney's speech. But thats my opinion.

I love it. It's even more fun to see so many people get pissed off about it.

Actually im not pissed off by it,more like dissapointed over all, and embarassed for Clint.
As an independent i was hoping to hear Romney's plan for the country and why i should vote for him. What happened last night did nothing to get me on his camp.

I've been disappointed for nearly 4 years. You'll get over it.

Where you dissapointed by the previous 8? I have been dissapointed for 12. Sadly i see neither candidate changing that in the next 4.

No. I was better off 4 years ago, 8 years ago and 12 years ago than I am today. Like I said, you'll get over it.
