C-USA Basketball should go to 16 teams - 10miners - 01-07-2015 06:21 PM

Keep UAB in Basketball and then invite Florida Gulf Coast basketball only then invite Army for Football and Basketball.

No. Sorry UAB but I don't think we should do that. Personally I would rather remove another school and get back to 12 but that won't happen. So if we go to 14 I say UMass, Georgia Southern, or South Alabama in that order. UMass will never leave the A-10 basketball so GSU or USA are my picks.

Ohio U or nothing.

agree to anything (figurative context) that doesn't resemble 'that'.....

Stay at 13 until UAB football returns.

No to FGCU and no to Army in anything.

Keep UAB in basketball and add a 14th (probably ULL, sorry LT fans) for football. Who cares if there's an odd number for basketball. The ACC is fine with 15.

If we're going to bring in another school, I would like to avoid bringing another Sun Belt school. Nothing against any of those schools, I just think a school like Ohio would be better in terms of perception. If we need to go the Sun Belt route, I'd like to bring in Arkansas State (#1) or ULL (#2). At least AState would bring in a new state into the fold. What I don't want for sure is to bring in another FCS or brand new FBS team. We have enough of those.

Ohio U doesn't want anything to do with CUSA. They want to stay in a bus league.

Add Army football. There THATS all that needs to be done.

RE: C-USA Basketball should go to 16 teams - MU42 - 01-07-2015 10:49 PM

Army football was in C-USA before and they couldn't compete. Now of course there is no Louisville, TCU, Cincinnati, but on the plus side I guess it would be a guaranteed win every year for us.

here is another crazy idea what about giving BYU a call for basketball only and adding North Dakota St for football and Basketball?

not that either would say 'okay' nor would it be a proving ground with staying power, but I like it in the 'new southern miss juco recruiting method to gain traction' methodology....

ketchup (hint:catch-up) doesn't give heartburn if one pumps enough tums in da tummy.....

How does C-USA benefit from additional expansion?

No thanks to FGCU. All sports or nothing. Charlotte didn't have it a few years back and was booted. Expect other programs to be held to the same standard.

its either that or drop some of the dead weight unless some these schools start scheduling better. How hard is it to have a decent basketball schedule? With 14 teams its sad that only 3 schools are in the top 100 in RPI. Alantic 10 has the same amount as C-USA and they have 7 schools with a RPI of under 100.

How many well known D1 schools are in Arkansas? Just Uof A, right? So that state needs some other school to root for. I'm sure like when the Houston Texans came into the nfl many Cowboys fans automatically decided to become Texans fans. We need a school from Arkansas. Especially one with the State after it's name.
