They are the best option out there.
- They are competitive in most sports.
- They satisfy the requirement for a team in the west.
- They have good attendance numbers. The best of any possible candidate out there.
- If they joined CUSA it would increase the gap even further between us and the Sun Belt.
- They have history with many of the teams in CUSA (MT, WKU, and NT) and provide an instant rivalry to La Tech.
I know La. Tech does not want them in CUSA, but we can not avoid the obvious best candidate just to appease one school.
I hope the presidents make the right choice if we expand. We don't need another big market school (GA State) or 1AA call up (JMU, Liberty, Georgia Southern, etc.) to water down our brand.

ULL and Georgia Southern if UAB brings back football

To that end, Southern Miss has played more football games against them than any other school IIRC.

Just what we need yet another thread that will be a pissing match between Tech and UL-L fans with in 20 post.
Yes I know it's the off season and I know I don't have to click on it but aren't there like 2 or 3 other topics talking about this?
I don't see the eastern schools voting to replacing a eastern school...even if they were set to play in the west with UL-L. UAB would have still voted with the eastern schools on most if not all matters relating to whats best for the eastern schools and the conference.
But let it began...

At least we would get another W on the football schedule if they joined... Really think we should stay at 13 for a while - ULL and the others aren't going anywhere and we need to see if the P5 makes any more changes. I think ASU deserves a good look because they bring in a new state and have a better FB program.

I don't have problem with the ULL program, but some of their fans are a pain. The name issue gets really old. They seem to be happy in the Belt and some of their fans believe they are peers with the AAC. Some of those ULL fans believe the Belt is on par with C-USA. So, why would they want to join? I don't believe we will get any extra payout with them in C-USA, so we might as well leave them in the Belt.
I'm still hoping UAB can get their football program back. If not, I'd be perfectly happy if C-USA stayed at 13. A 6 team western division is fine with me. I vote "No" on ULL.
NIU is still the only team I'd support, and I don't know if they'd even be interested.

Ruston is more Trailer Trash than Lafayette ever thought of being. I should know I lived right outside of Lafayette for 11 years and have been to Ruston more than once. Lafayette makes Ruston look like a two bit one horse town.

Having lived in both Baton Rouge and Ruston I would much rather live in N. LA. Ruston has changed a lot in the last 10 years but still has a way to go. Just not a big fan of swamps I guess.

ULL isn't even pushing to get into CUSA, their administration is content in Sun Belt. If CUSA adds a team to replace UAB then it will probably be South Alabama to keep the conference in that state
