Generation War - True Bearcat - 03-05-2016 08:18 PM

Has anyone watched this three part series told from the German point of view? If not, it's on Netflix right now. However if you don't speak German you better put the subtitles on. The show is about 5 friends two are in the army, one is a Jew, a nurse, and a singer. I watched all of it in one day. It was that good.

It's good but not great. That movie has had a major impact in Germany because it helps millenials understand how their grandparents got caught up in N@zism and makes it a little more human rather than "they were all evil." If you want German POV and don't mind subtitles then Downfall takes the cake and is just as good as any American war movie out there.

I thought that it was pretty interesting. Not the best thing I've ever seen, but it was entertaining. It is interesting to watch their worldview absolute crumble over the course of the series.

It is a modernized interpretation of events. I despise this type of stuff.

On a positive side it was a gritty depiction of the war, but little else.
