Hey, they could develop one helluva conference if they did:

Private East:

Notre Dame
Boston College
Syracuse
Wake Forest
Duke
Vanderbilt
Northwestern
Miami (FL)

Private West:

TCU
Baylor
Tulane
Tulsa
SMU
Rice
USC
Stanford

BYU refuses to join... lol

All-around, a phenomenal FB, BB, and Baseball conference.

Oh gosh, (without knowing)...you probably accidentally just opened up a brand new can of worms..if Greenwave16 sees this... by even mentioning Tulane in the same conference with a Notre Dame..lol.

Air Force is a tough get being that, unlike Navy, they're already in an all-sports conference. They're not going to going trade their cozy relationship with Colorado State & Wyoming to go it alone in the AAC or go AAC football-only and who-knows-what in other sports. The MWC certainly isn't going to let them just park their other sports there.

Unless the AAC is willing and has room to take all 3 Front Range schools, it won't get any of them

I disagree with that. AFA may well stay long term in the MWC but they were interested at one point in going to the AAC. They could go alone or with Colorado St. They can always play the other front range schools OOC if they want to continue those relationships.

I don't see Air Force leaving their rivalries behind in the MWC for an unstable situation in the AAC. I don't think the AAC has a prayer of adding anyone from the MWC. The MWC is one of the best G5s. None of it's members are going to leave unless it's to a P5 conference. As a matter of fact, if BYU doesn't get into the B12, I'm certain they end up back in the MWC.
I dunno about BYU. I believe that they could continue to survive as an independent. They might play some MWC teams occasionally though.

I'm fairly certain Navy wants to be in the West. I think it was part of their agreement with the AAC.

I heard the AAC threw them in the West because they were the last addition to the conference, and there wasn't room in the East. That'll change is Cincy leaves. Anyway, they'll do whatever the conference tells them, or they can go back to being independent.

You heard wrong, Navy asked to be in the west.

Those schools don't want to be with a "directional" like USC, though.

Try the AAC board. There's a 100 page thread on the topic.

That thread is "about" USM going to the AAC as much as throwing rocks at sandcastles is "about" intergalactic space travel.
I'm curious to hear your logic behind this... go on

I too feel rocks as interplanetary space travel vehicles are severely under-utilized.

Sandcastles are vastly underrated as well. They get such a bad rap.

I'm so young, I have the most luck on CougarLife. I met my current girlfriend there. She's 13 years younger than me.

Okay, so imagine that the rock is an intergalactic space vessel. Since there isn't one that currently exists, I personally prefer to think of it as a Ford Pinto with rockets strapped to it, but you can substitute that for whatever 1970s era vehicle you desire.

The sandcastle is actually representative of the black hole in the center of our galaxy. The act of throwing the rock (or Ford Pinto) toward the sand-castle is an attempt to get a gravity-assist slingshot maneuver from the black hole. This is to propel us to speeds that make intergalactic space travel possible without having to bring as much fuel as we would for the journey without the assist.

Tune in for the Dumb Analogies Meet Physics Show next week where something something something something.

If this happens, there will be two additions to the BIG12. Most of the comments support Cincinnati, Memphis, USF, Houston, or UCF. CUSA could potentially lose two members and be back at twelve. In my opinion, this would be better for the conference.

Actually if the AAC loses 2 members; Aresco is already on record as saying the league Presidents favor staying at 10 schools. So the AAC might not expand in that scenario.

That would probably be better for everyone anyway. If the AAC loses, say Houston and UConn, then other than Memphis and Cincy the two conferences are much more equal. If the AAC raided CUSA again, it would do little to help the AAC, but would hurt CUSA. There is a strategy that says that might be beneficial to the AAC, but really, it behooves all of us to have a strong G5 since none of us are going to the P5 anyway except the same 4 we always say may have a chance.

This would clearly make the MWC the best G5 in the country.
