There are thundering herds of buffalo all the way out West..maybe that's what he meant.

Texas is pressuring 2 other Texas schools against expansion. A fight is being put up.

BYU is getting an invite if they expand. Boise St. and Houston are the other 2 options. Cincy works for WVU. BYU makes sense because they have the largest fanbase of the available schools, they are indy right now so no buyout and are ready to be members now, great P5 level facilities and they have KBYU, a station that is in 57 million homes right now. They are the most poised to go.

Colorado State fans are pushing hard for this too. LOL.

Imo,Marshall has as close to a national brand as there is in Conf USA. This is both because of the movie about the horrific tragedy and Marshall has been 9n the national stage before when they played in the old Division 1a.

Marshall recent winning streaks have also help put them in the conversation in terms of both viable and respectable football programs. Again, just my opinion, but think Marshall would add good value to the AAC and benefit greatly from the exposure the AAC offers its teams. This is not a knock on any other program in CUSA.

Why make these comments? Think about the real reason you wrote this, and you will have your answer about Marshall's relevance.

The bold play I think for the Big XII is go ahead and get 4 teams (the report said their analytics researched up to 16 teams).

For funsies I'll have them taking Cincy, Houston UCF and USF

This will give all the P5 the membership they want (for a while); the MAC AAC CUSA and Sunbelt then could reconstitute logically.

Zero % chance of logic breaking out.
Why would logic break out at this late date? We all think our schools are way more important athletically as a brand than they are. That is just natural. So everyone will keep aiming for the highest prize. Nobody wants to be figuratively stuck in any conference of schools that would gladly have them.

They aren't spending $220M on a new stadium to stay in the MWC.

Yeah Colorado State makes perfect sense, honestly. Gets them back in Colorado with a Land Grant school with top notch facilities and arguably better athletics than that school in Boulder. Additionally, they have one of the best veterinary programs in the country fwiw.

They should grab CSU, BYU, Cincy, Houston, USF and UCF/Memphis.

I really for sorry for you. I have no beef with Southern Miss as it is a great school with a proud football tradition. Your school however, does not function into my thoughts in anyway or form when I mention Marshall.

USF and UCF have been on the rumour mill for a while (there was the whole "how do we get into Florida" argument that seemed to be popular among writers and fans)... SO I don't see it as far-fetched/laughable.

Would they be the first choice of the BigXII to get into that state? Nope, but they are an option.

If they did that, they need to rename the conference "The Archipelago Conference"

Good lord, let me get away from the lightening bolt. I haven't seen a lie of that magnitude told that didn't come from a Clinton or Hugh freeze. You have bashed us everywhere you had the opportunity.

I hope it ends up like the USM to AAC thread on the American board. Nothing like nonsensical to brighten your day.
