Power Rankings After Week 6 - ohio1317 - 10-09-2016 11:47 PM

Here are mine. A bit different than last week. Number in parenthesis is last week rank.
1. (2) Michigan: Didn't expect or want to move to them up here, but the wins over Penn State, Wisconsin, and Colorado all look fairly strong and they completely dismantled Rutgers.
2. (1) Ohio State: First hiccup of the year. Still beat Indiana by 21, but couldn't get passing game going. That will have to be better at Wisconsin next week. Definitely a chance to move back up with win there.
3. (3) Wisconsin: If they beat Ohio State, my pick to win the west. If they lose, the crossover games might kill them even if they win their divisional ones.
4. (4) Nebraska: Northwestern win looks better even as Oregon win looks worse.
5. (6) Penn State: Were not favored against Maryland and made a statement.
6. (7) Northwestern: Bad non-conference losses, but the Iowa win up a bit in value this week.
7. (9) Iowa: Starting to put pieces back together maybe. Not sure really what to expect going forward, might rise a lot or fall far.
8. (11) Minnesota: Lost this week, but went up. They might not stay here, but close games against both Iowa and Penn State. Need to win in a hurry though.
9. (8) Indiana: Looked very good vs. Ohio State. This might be too low for them, but next week will be a good barometer vs. Nebraska.
10. (5) Maryland: Biggest drop off of the week. I was not expecting them to lose by much in Happy Valley if they lost at all. That said, definitely room to go back up.
11. (10) Michigan State: This week did nothing to make me want to put them higher with their loss to BYU. That said, I think they are at about a low point for the season.
12. (14) Purdue: Beat Illinois to finally give the Boilermakers some momentum.
13. (13) Illinois: Didn't expect them to lose this week. Looks to be a tough start under a new coach.
14. Rutgers: Possibly the toughest 2 weeks of Big Ten play in a year I have ever seen. Some of it was the competition, but Rutgers has a lot of issues to correct right now.

I'm loving and hating the potential that Indiana and Maryland are showing.

RE: Power Rankings After Week 6 - TerpsNPhoenix - 10-11-2016 11:17 AM

The Terps are showing potential but so far it has been against teams that are not great. Best win is UCF. The PSU loss exposed quite a few problems. Terps have done what most thought they should. Win the non-con and beat Purdue. Now they are in the real stretch to show who they are. Have Minny this week (and just heard that their QB, Mitch Leidner may be out). They took PSU to OT. So, even with a 4-1 record things by no means set. Still got OSU, UM which will be losses. I'm not writing off your Spartans just yet. Indiana has found a defense and does look tough. We also have Nebraska as a cross over which is a likely loss. We close the season with Rutgers (the one game I'm a little confident in winning. I think we get 5 but I'm not sure we get 6 for bowl eligibility. Things are looking up from last season but the Terps still have a lot to improve on.

I'm looking forward to the 2018 season LOL. That's when Ash's 2017 recruits will be taking the full reigns.
