TV for CAA Tournament - sctvman - 02-22-2017 02:08 PM

With the CAA tournament coming up, the games will be televised on several different networks.

Friday night's games, as usual, will be on CAA.tv, as they have been the past few years.

Saturday's games are more complicated. In Charleston, they will not be on a main channel. The MyTV channel widely available on cable and satellite that usually carries College of Charleston games is carrying SC high school state championships, so all 4 games will air on MeTV, which is only on OTA and digital cable.

If you are traveling to North Charleston, there are several sports bars within a short distance of the arena (BWW, Sports Book of Charleston, Manny's) that will televise those games if you can't make it to the Coliseum.

Sunday's games are on MyTV in Charleston, while Monday is on CBSSN as announced. More info will come as we get closer.

In Philadelphia..
The afternoon games on Saturday will be carried on The Comcast Network. Saturday night, both the Flyers and Sixers are playing, so the night games are not currently listed. In past years, the NBC10 subchannel carried the games, but not sure if they'll do that this year.

On Sunday, both semifinal games will be carried by The Comcast Network, even though there's about zero chance that the teams in the Philadelphia viewing area (Drexel & Delaware) will be involved.

In Wilmington,

As of 02/22/2017:
WILM TV has the Saturday evening QF listed, games 3 and 4. WILM TV is doing ACC Network basketball from 12 to 2 and the American Sports Network basketball from 2 to 4 followed by more ACC Network basketball from 4 to 6. I am not sure who is going to pick up the Saturday afternoon broadcasts, games 1 and 2, but I am sure something will be done particularly if UNCW is in the noon game.

WILM TV also has both Sunday afternoon Semifinals listed

The championship is of course on CBS Sports Network.

Suprised to see that Comcast Sportsnet New England is NOT picking up games saturday and sunday. Will they be unavailable in the new england area?

WILM has confirmed they will be carrying UNCW's noon QF as well as the two night QF. They will not be carrying QF#2 at 2:30 due to ACC network basketball at 4

Regardless of where you live, ALL games except for the championship game will be streamed live on CAA.TV.

RE: TV for CAA Tournament - EvanJ - 03-02-2017 08:31 PM

CSN-New England will only have one live game, which is Northeastern's Quarterfinal. The Semifinal that could have Northeastern will be on CSN-New England delayed at 11:00 P.M.

Anyone have any info on the HRSN radio doing the games? UNCW's old beat writer doing the color commentary. Is that feed on satellite radio

Wish I had read this sooner. Now I have to go out and find a bar that will put it on for me...

For those without cable CBS Sports Network is a bad deal. Only a few carriers even for streaming. Much worse set up than NBCSN. Hopefully we can get back in with ESPN and have all games during the tournament aired on ESPN3 with the championship (maybe even semifinals) on one of their actual networks. Having to find a bootlegged stream was, easy, but not convenient at all. I guess thats part of not being in the conference footprint anymore.

Agree. We had a sweet spot on ESPN back before the NBC deal. I hope we can get something like that back.

RE: TV for CAA Tournament - sctvman - 03-07-2017 12:36 PM

I heard a lot of CofC fans complaining about that yesterday on Facebook that they couldn't watch the game without a cable connection.

Also, CBSSN is a un-Nielsen rated network, so we won't know how well the game did, but the SoCon title game on ESPN probably outdid it by a lot. Even the Horizon, playing in a 80% empty arena in Detroit, had a ESPNU deal.

RE: TV for CAA Tournament - solohawks - 03-07-2017 09:39 PM

I would have rather the final been on Comcast than CBS sports. Would have been on local tv in Wilmington instead of a high tier cable channel not available at hotels or even the local hospital
