I stayed in a hotel once on Hardy Street and a middle eastern guy was the desk clerk. There was no fire.

...night of the first Liberty Bowl fire alarms went off at like 2am....some eastern european lady came crying to my door saying she couldn't get her boyfriend up cause he was such a deep sleeper...so I go into their room which was adjacent to ours and I'm trying to rustle Ivan the Sleeper up from his fricken coma and I finally get him to move....He looks up at me and gets this terrified look in his eyes...all the while his girlfreind is standing there crying..........so Ivan thinks I'm in there to rob and rape em or something........and I'm speaking slowly to him, like that ever helps right?!........"THERE- IS-A-FIRE- and YOU NEED TO GET YO COMMIE AZZ UP"......he don't understand crap cause he's Russian and he no speaky da english goodly......so he looks at his girlfriend and she finally stops crying long enough to speak russian to his goofy azz and tells him what I told him....so he gets up and I'm like........"ok, well, welcome to America and bye"...it was pretty comical.
