Elena Delle Donne was the only basketball player nominated for Choice Female Athlete. Including both genders, none of the nominees played basketball or football in one of the top conferences. Stephen Curry from Davidson and LeBron James from St. Vincent-St. Mary's High School were the male basketball players nominated, and no football players were nominated.
