Kent Taylor‏Verified account @KentTaylorWAVE

According to sources, Tom Jurich was asked to fire Rick Pitino, refused, both were fired.

Board of trusties are the only ones that can fire Pitino. His contract requires giving Him a 10 day notice.

I'm sure the president already met with the board. That is probably why it didn't happen yesterday. As for the notice, they just pay him for 10 days and tell him to go away.

Wilkie, some UL fans are great posters (you, Maize, etc.). I feel badly for you.

However, in the case of some other Card fans, not so much.

The good guys and trolls pretty much know who they are...

Your football coach is still employed.

For now.

Louisville may de-UGA itself. This is a good first step. But there won't be much left if they are thorough about it.

I believe this will be a good day for the UofL & hopefully for all of college sports as the whole recruiting process needs an enema.

Finnebaum just said he thinks Petrino will be out soon. Basically said that the situation at UL is too toxic and nobody is left (Jurich) to protect / defend him.

Considering Louisville is at the heart of everything. Let's start there for now. You think Lamar Jackson leaves Florida for KY for nothing? There was funneling of money to Bridgewater's parents via traveling expenses, hotels, etc. 12-13 road games.

I understand your frustration and questions. I hope that after the FBI goes through both basketball and football that we can just post about the competition on the field!
Best of luck to your school!04-cheers

1:00pm press conference. As of this moment Pitino is on unpaid administrative leave and Jurich is on paid administrative. So this means they are negotiating separation pay. Interim AD and interim head basketball coach announcement to still come. President and chairman of the board are very angry about this. 07-coffee3

Thanks buddy. All the shoe companies have been doing this. This is just the tip of the iceberg. There a lot more disclosures coming from the FBI.

Louisville is at the heart of everything? Louisville isn't even a blue blood. Louisville participated absolutely.

This make me sad. I always thought of UL as an example of a school that slogged it's way through the mire to the big time, earning it unlike those schools living on BCS/Power welfare since birth.

The end justifies the means I guess.
