Does anyone actually know the bowl selection process for CUSA??? - TTT - 11-18-2017 11:46 PM

Seems like there is a bunch of speculation on how teams are selected. So the conference champion gets first choice right? Is this officially in writing somewhere? What's next? Is runner up given 2nd choice? Does the team with 3rd best record in conference standing get next pick and so on? Do bowl officials say "here you go CUSA, here's your alloted bowls, y'all decide..."? Is it even decided by conference officials? Is input by ADs/coaches considered? Are ADs/coaches even present (say, a conference call) when these bdecision are made? Is it even up to conference officials at all or is it solely done so by bowl officials? If so, to what extent are conference officials, ADs, coaches in involved, if at all?

Seems like there is absolutely zero transparency when it comes to how and in what order bowl games are handled. There's obviously a lot more to it than "we (bowl official rep) want you (school) therefore we extend invite"... forgive me if this has been discussed before but please explain one more time for ALL how the hell and in what order bowls are allotted/selected/invited etc...and please cite some official sources. Thanks.

Other than champs pick and 7 wins go before 6 (if there's not enough bowls)there is no order. I would think loser of championship would have a say in where they want to go

If UNT wins where do they go? NO bowl, maybe NM bowl? Surely they would not elect to play Army in the AF bowl for the 4th time in two years. Lol.

Champ gets to "pick", as long as a western champ picks western or eastern champ picks east. There is no selection process other than C-USA working with bowls to create best attendance and match ups. 7 win teams bowl over 6 win teams but don't necessarily get the better bowl placement. ESPN likely has more input than your AD.

Several different bowl reps were at Apogee tonight.

I think the Armed Forces goes to yall. I have a feeling NT will be in the Heart of Dallas again if the B1G or Big12 can't fulfill their allotments. Please football gods don't make us play Army again.

They were probably disappointed....

I only caught the last 6 minutes but it looked half empty but that was late in the game

That's cute coming from a WKU fan since your stadium was standing room only at last year's CCG.

Just saying what I saw....

I don't know any Western fans talking about Western's great attendance or having a 30,000 fan following. So which one was it that stayed home....

Army or UNT fans?

If you recall he was speaking about those bowl games. We have our attendance issues at home just like every other school in this conference.

So to what extent are cusa officials/ads/coaches involved with bowl reps when deciding who gets invited where? Do the schools give the conf. officials their preferences beforehand with the hopes that the conf. officials will turn around and give that info to the bowl reps?

I believe the conference champ gets first pick of the affiliated bowls. After that it's a crap shoot and the bowls pick.

Late in the game the crowd had thinned out a bit. People around where I was sitting took their kids home because of the cold windy weather. It was a good crowd for most of the game. The official attendance was 26,392, and yes we really had that many in the stadium tonight.

Taking kids home because of cold windy weather in a back and forth exiting game??? Why even go to a football game to begin with??? Sheesh.
