Is there a chance FAU is ranked after the bowls? - goliath74 - 12-03-2017 12:40 PM

FAU is receiving votes in both the AP Top 25 (8) and the Coaches Top 25 (24).

In fact, that makes us ranked 28th according to the coaches.

If we have a good showing and a strong win against a deserving bowl opponent, is there a chance we actually enter the Top 25?

According to ESPN's Football Power Index, FAU is 61st.
According to Real Time RPI, FAU is 27th
According to CBS College Football Rankings, FAU is 28th.

If they win their bowl game and looked as good as they have against North Texas, then yes.

.
61st really? 60 teams better than FAU. Even behind Kentucky. 01-wingedeagle

Not if they play 6-6 temple at home

Probably not even with a win against Temple. Which sucks because FAU is the best team in CUSA this year

We all hope so. Go win your bowl by 80 and leave no option!

Yes, that's the only thing we can control. If we drop 50 on Akron, how can we be ignored?

Based on what some of the FAU guys say on here, they will be ranked #2 behind the eventual national champs...Jeeeeeeeeeeez!

Congrats on a breakthrough year but act like you've been there before....wait! You haven't!!!!03-lmfao

1. We are pretty realistic out here. Hoping that we are ranked at the end of the season is not the same as expecting to be ranked 2nd. Let's not involve thyself in a silly verbal exercise

2. We HAVE been here before. We have been to bowls and we have won a conference before. If you are implying that we have not won C-USA title before - you are right. But this is our 5th season. Give us time.

I was kind a hoping the same thing for Troy but with playing a North Texas team there is no way for them to be ranked in top 25!

FAU was in the same boat playing Akron there’s no way they’ll rank them beating a school like that.

Probably the same way when Western dropped 51 on Memphis last year and used most f the 4th....

running out the clock

There are several considerations here. Teams in front of us losing is one of those considerations (we are ranked 28th in the coaches poll).

There will be team ranked below that wins and jumps FAU. Maybe not but that is what happened last year for Western. Unless a team is 18 or lower they probably not dropping out. I would say 20 or lower unless those 18 and 19 ranked teams get blowout

Well, who knows, maybe Kiffin sniffs coke off the ass of a co-ed in the half-time of a huge offensive performance and gets all the eyeballs to the FAU team. That may be what was missing for WKU last season.

If it was the best looking ass in the world.....

it would be forgotten by the time the poll comes out. I think playing a early bowl game hurts a borderline top 25 team.

Western vs Memphis had a fairly good rating and with the offensive output got a lot of press leading up to the game. Forgotten a week to two weeks later when most games are being played
