Next Saturday is going to be a fun game for Marshall and WKU. The game is on Stadium Sports if anyone is interested.

RE: CUSA RPI Update 1.1.18 - jarmzet - 01-01-2018 02:52 PM

UTSA seems to be better this year. They can score the ball a whole lot better.

I really hope WKU gets some good news from the NCAA clearing house, We will need all the help we can against a very good Herd team

And in other news if you want to watch the two time defending league champion that is also favored this year well you are SOL. For both games. That is unless you want to pay to be piped into the Florida schools crappy video board version. So, if you are keeping score at home MT's first three games in conference (Facebook only against #2 for game one) and nada in games two and three.

That C-USA TV package. It's really something.

UNT seems to be just a little bit better than NutsaK.07-coffee3

241 thats what piss poor scheduling does along with pissing away the better games you have. Combination of fulfilling certain contracts, games falling through and a poor year last year affecting scheduling this year. It will get better. Now is UAB really 241? IDK ask any MTSU fan. Only thing that matters is a top four finish.

RE: CUSA RPI Update 1.1.18 - monarx - 01-01-2018 10:42 PM

And with conference play starting, its not likely to improve. While better than last year, 17 still sucks. Anything under 15 is embarrassing. I won't be happy until CUSA is in the 11-13 range. CUSA has to implement a no D2 games rule unless its a pre-season exhibition. Its killing this conference.

^ Totally agree! I honestly think C-USA can become a 10-12 type basketball conference and maybe a two bid league.

You've been complaining all over social media and blazertalk about fans complaining about our schedule and RPI publicly and now you're doing it here??? What gives AB?

The only benefit of it sucking so hard is that I get to watch most of WKU's games on Fox College Sports/WKU PBS.

I have said it before, but it is worth repeating. Once we saw the measly amount of the TV deals on offer, we should have just gifted the rights to Netflix or YouTube for the cost production. At least then we would get exposure. Instead we get no money and are stuck on BeIn and other networks that no one cares about. Can we fire all the Judys yet?

D2 games have no impact on RPI, so how is it killing the league?

I thought they did if they were regular season games? If not, then its just a missed opportunity to beat another D1 team. The thing to do is to schedule beatable teams from top 12 conferences. Those teams get the benefit of an RPI bump late in the season just by sewing a patch on their jersey.

The D2 games don't count, and as we saw from our NSU game, the games against the bottom D1 teams, even if you win, hurt the RPI. If the league wants to fix the RPI issue, the D2 games aren't the answer.

Now, let me go on record to say, as I have before, I don't care about the impact on RPI. I just don't believe D1 teams should schedule non-D1 opponents for anything other than exhibitions.

ODU fans can't go five minutes without bringing this up. Y'all need to get a life.

CUSA RPI Update 1.1.18 - CyrusJS - 01-02-2018 12:44 PM

I hate the big boys of basketball, but they do scheduling right, and it’s not something we can afford. They play literally all games at home except maybe one. Against teams in the 150-250 RPI range. The one time per OOC they play not at home is against a rival or a preseason tournament. Home games don’t count as much for RPI, but dang they win 100% of them, as most of us would, too. I just hope that one day there are scheduling mandates across the NCAA sports. Can’t believe money is allowed to play such a big factor in chances to succeed on the court. Let money be used for facilities and recruiting and salaries, whatever. But it shouldn’t be the driving factor between schools chances to win a championship via scheduling.

Changing gears to TV discussed in this thread, I really loved the one game we had on Facebook. Can’t remember who the producer was. But the live chat was a lot of fun to be able to watch the game and talk to fans of both teams live.
