Good luck with Manny Harris if you do get him. We recruited him out of Copperas Cove HS, where he broke Robert Griffin III's school record for most passing yards in a game. He redshirted for us in 2015, and after not getting any playing time at all for us in 2016, decided to transfer to JUCO, where he had a pretty solid year.

I think he was probably better suited for a spread offense, which we don't run, so maybe he'll work out better for you guys.

Locksley was the NJCAA offensive player of the year and a JC all-American. He is a dynamic, dual threat QB that is a game changer for UTEP's offense. Excited for the coming football season now. He is a mid-year transfer so he can participate in spring football which always helps.

Great news for y'all. I hope UTEP can turn things around.

UTEP now has 2 new WR commits, both 3 stars in 247sports, an OL and DL as well as our coveted QB. Coach Dimel has said that the previous staff loaded up on grayshirts and blueshirts last year which leaves him only 10 or 11 scholarships to give out. He seems to be making them count since most fans realized we need a few JC's at skill positions to be able to compete in this league.

Why should other teams even compete for a C-USA championship next year? FAU is so dominate, the conference bigwigs should just hand the trophy to the, the errrr, errr (what is the nickname of FAU anyway?)________'s (fill-in-the-blank to whatever their name is) and end what little suspense there is, EARLY.04-cheers

To paraphrase Winston Churchill, "Nevah has one program done so little, but thinks it deserves so much?" 03-lmfao

My favorite churchhill quote was "There are only 3 problems with Americans, They are over taxed, over sexed and over here."

"Oversexed, overpaid and over here" is actually the correct terminology (I'm sure the "overtaxed" came from some right wing radio host 03-lmfao)

and Churchill didn't say it....but a meelion British subjects DID! 04-cheers

Miami Herald Article on FIU Recruiting....

Quote:With 21 recruits signed last month and just four football scholarships available for the 2018 recruiting class, FIU coach Butch Davis said his staff is spending a majority of its time looking ahead to 2019.

The next National Signing Day is Feb. 7, but FIU doesn’t figure to be particularly active on that day.

“[FIU assistant coaches are working] 40 percent on 2018 and 60 percent on 2019,” Davis said. “They are out on the road looking at 2019. [For 2018], we want to see if there is anybody out there we can sign who will be an impactful player.

“We know the type of player we want.”

Indeed, the players already signed fit what Davis seeks — versatile athletes who can play multiple positions and are, in many cases, bigger and faster than the players he already has on campus.

As of now, FIU’s Class of 2018 is ranked 63rd nationally and No. 1 in Conference USA, according to 247 Sports.

FIU’s biggest recruiting wins came at defensive tackle, where Davis signed a pair of four-star junior-college transfers. Davis said FIU beat out some big-time programs to get Tayland Humphrey, a 6-6, 350-pounder from Hutchinson Community College (Kansas), and Teair Tart-Spencer, a 6-4, 295-pounder from East Mississippi CC.

I actually think that can be said for almost every program. With the early signing period and most filled about 20ish signees, now they are spending a lot of effort talking to HS JRs.

This was from Friday's list by OwlAccess. The Monday's update no longer lists Park

Malcolm Davidson (RB, 3*) and Doug Johnson (OT, 3*) are added to the FAU list yesterday (according to 24/7)

ESPN has FAU at 9 commits (5 signed) - none below 3*

Why did you flip between 24/7 and ESPN? Is it because 24/7 has FAU recruits rated lower than ESPN?

According to 24/7, which I tend to like better, FAU has a 5 signed (four 3*, one 2*) and 7 commits (four 3*, one 2*, two not rated).

That's not to say FAU isn't doing a good job recruiting, because I think you guys are.

I personally find Rivals to be the best.
