There will be 6 new Committee members, 5 unknown. will the AAC get a rep? - pesik - 01-16-2018 10:50 PM

6 committee members are being replaced this year .. one of them will be Oklahoma's AD..the other 5 to be announced in February

you think the AAC will get a rep? we havent had a real rep yet
ucf making a scene about misrepresentation could force their hand

people like to act like the playoff committee will have the same mentality on how they vote always (they have never voted a g5 top 10, they will never do it. etc)

but the committee is small, 13 members, and has high turnover on certain years, like this year with 6. the committee members arent trained and just come in with their own pre-conceived ..if we get a cycle with g5 friendly members who are vocal..who knows

What I would give for Danny White to be on that committee.

I doubt it. All the guys coming off the committee are P5 voters. Unless you think they might actually replace a P5 guy with a G5 guy--I dont see much chance of there being a AAC guy on the committee.

Just means ESPN writing 6 different checks to p5ers, no big unknown here and at this point I don’t really care anymore, it’s a new day, I just get up , look through the pouring rain and feel so uninspired...

Doesn’t matter. The committee are controlled by the universities they all belong to.

It's the Autonomy 5 and I can't imagine them allowing representation to the American. If they do it bodes well for the future of the Power 6

If the G5 gets a rep, it will be a wallflower AD type that desires to "move up" in the profession. You can take that to bank. It is how it works on the basketball committee.

Not likely. Didn't help UCF out with rescheduling the missed game due to the National Guard.

This CFP committee is biased and inherently unfair. I just don't get how people can't see that. What am I missing? And, Aresco is for this committee as constituted?

Who does the selection for candidates? Who were the candidates? How were they selected? Who was nominated? How did the selection progress go? Did the conferences plus ND vote on them? Were the votes party line 6-5?

So many questions, so little answers.................all in the dark.

All you need to know is each conference gets a vote. Thats 5-5...then Notre Dame gets a vote.

So the voting becomes P5-6 G5-5. The 13 member committee is virtually all P5 reps with a G5 lap dog or two for window dressing. Its a joke. Thats why I was completely against the Selection Committee concept from the start. Its much easier to rig than 2 polls comprised of thousands of voters working in conjunction with multiple computer models. Cant easily control an outcome with that many inputs. Here, they get 13 guys in a smokey room. Better yet---they get to pick the 13 guys. Now, it they can just buy off the refs in a few key games we can have Alabama vs LSU for the Natty every year.

Why is Notre Dame getting the same amount of votes (1) as the 14 members of the SEC (1). So ND has 14 times the voting power as Alabama.

This whole committee is a crock. What sounded good when it was developed has turned into a sham. 11 "P5" reps over-repping the P so called 5 conferences and escorting them into the playoffs every year. This could not possibly be more biased and unfair. Worse yet, it seems like Aresco and Co. are completely satisfied with the committee. Why aren't they raising a red flag...ever.

Either make it one vote per FBS conference or go back to the BCS rankings using polls and computers. There is no fairness, checks, or balances in this current system.

Because people associate him with Rice and forget he's really a good ol Arkansas boy.
