Lol. Your guess is as good as ours. We don’t have investigative reporters that know anything. We have propaganda writers that are scared to say or do anything because their access and privileges get revoked in a heartbeat.

My guess is that it will get announced in the next few days. There are two final candidates as far as we know, both were in town over the past few days. My guess is an offer was made and we are waiting on an answer from first choice. If he says no then its second choice.
I would guess your guy is #1 right now, but that's just a hunch.

PS None of knows those are the 2 finalists. For all we know they could be two of ten people planning on visiting before a decision is made. That's kind of the reason it would be nice to have a reporter ask the damn question, which is the whole point of the statement that was made. I don’t live on the boards as much a I did in my 20’s, before my daughter was born. But I do still read the newspaper. So as an old man in a 32 year old body I would like for a beat writer to actually get info and report it. Not write puff pieces about every player on the team all winter.

I'm 50 years old and I've been a Herd fan my entire life. I follow the team as closely as any fan. I have never understood why fans have any interest whatsoever in this kind of stuff. I seriously don't get it.
I'm not bashing those that care about it. I simply don't understand it.

Even if they are the two finalists, the AD might not admit that, since they could both turn you down. I totally agree, It does seem that Marshall coaching searches take longer then at most schools. The Basketball HC search took forever, but we ultimately landed a true difference maker, who is a perfect fit. This hire will probably be the most important and scrutinized hire Doc has ever made during his tenure at Marshall, so I'm sure he analyzing and re-analyzing every inch of it.

Sounds like y'all stole our beat writer at the News Star. Puff pieces aren't exclusive to the papers up in Huntington.
