ECU and USF....anchoring the RPI hard. UH plays 4 games against them.

RE: AAC RPI after 2/3 games - rath v2.0 - 02-03-2018 05:22 PM

Thankfully the AAC only gave us that dynamic duo 2 times.

RE: AAC RPI after 2/3 games - payday - 02-03-2018 05:24 PM

Helped make up for those 4 OOC stinkers

The goal for the conference at this point is to sneak a 4th team in. If we do, we probably put more teams in than the PAC12 and possibly tie the big ten

Who is the fourth team going to be? Temple or SMU?

Temple could be the topic of a lot of debate in late February.

Most likely Temple. I can't see SMU beating any of the top 3 teams now without Foster.

Ucla and Miss St both with solid RPI wins today. X is in OT vs GT. Bluitt makes a 4 pt play to put it in OT.

2 to 4 bid conference. Houston and Temple need to keep winning to up their resumes. I do not count Houston as a definite in at this time. As of now I'd say two are in and 2 on the bubble. Lots can change moving forward.

Temple is really interesting. I think 18 regular season wins and a first round AAC tourney win lands them in the First Four.

Serious question here: what does ECU and USF need to do to elevate their programs ?

Take a look at ECU's schedule. Their entire OOC was at home with the exception of Rutgers, there only power conference team on the schedule. Tell me if you see anything wrong with that pathetic schedul.

Take a look at USF's schedule. They too played only one power conference team in Indiana.

I think if you take a quick look at the schedules above you'll see that improvements need to be made.

If you haven’t noticed ECU has been playing very tough lately. Signs of life right now.

Both ECU and USF should continue to improve.

ECU's lineup next year should look like

G - Fleming
G - Williams
G/F - Barkley
G/F - LeDay
F - Spasojevic

USF's should look like

G - Rideau
G - Collins
G/F - Lang
F - Yetna
C - Martin

Just gotta limit attrition for both rosters

Jeremy Sheppard is probably better than Fleming.

ECU also has a solid class, Jayden Gardner will help in the post he’s averaging 25 and 15 in the CAP8 conference which is as about as good as it gets in NC. Had numerous offers, most notable being VCU.

Mike Wynn is a SG who also had numerous mid-major offers. Probably wont be playing major minutes next year, but seems decent.

Deshaun Wade is a SG, had two other offers from NJIT and MD Eastern Shore

And Rico Quenton is a center who has no other reported offers but has put up some ridiculous stats for Dyer County who is pretty good according to the Memphis fans.

Recruit the I-95 corridor. ECU may need to changes its name to confuse recruits. Something like Carolina Tar Devils.

I wasn't sure of Sheppard's status and if he was expected to return. If he and Wilkins get their sh*t together then all the better.

Equally important to improving the team is improving the schedule. In terms of RPI it’s better to lose to a good team than it is to beat a horrible one and if you lose to a horrible one it’s a double whammy.
