Black Panther film - Tulanefan32 - 02-07-2018 09:52 AM
I figured I would get a discussion going about this upcoming film. So far the reviews have been all positive. Some have even called this the greatest film ever made. I’m really excited to see it and I too believe it will at least be the greatest superhero movie ever made period. I know some people are making it a political thing because it has a predominantly African-American cast and being billed as the “first Stand alone superhero movie with a person of color” I say people just just accept that this will be the greatest story ever told on film and haters(if there are any) should probably get themselves evaluated because their white privilege is showing.

Why would it be political and why bring up privilege? Let the movie stand on it's on. If it's good, I'll probably watch it, if it sucks, I will not watch it like I don't watch most movies that suck.

Sometimes my phone has a mind of its own. Don’t try to make this a spelling thing and try to derail this discussion. This movie is destined for best picture at the oscars and if it does not get nominated than the protests in previous years will pale in comparison to the storm of change that would take place in Hollywood.

As 49 said, if the movie is good, people will watch it. If it isn't, people won't. Your need to make it a SJW cause is pretty sad. As for the spelling, at least be man enough to not blame your phone. A lib is never at fault. Never fails. How are you at honoring bets?

I will say, if you are going to make another comic book movie, set it in some place other than New York City or LA and try to do something different. It looks like maybe this one fits that bill.

Do the critics like it because it a superhero movie carried by a person of color or is really the greatest super hero movie of all time. I’ll probably go see it, but I’m inclined to believe the critics simply “want” it to succeed. My guess is it’s as good as the typical Marvel movie...which rarely disappoint those that enjoy the genre.

Trump will probably try to block the film from coming out but rest assured it will shatter every box office record there is and win many oscars just like Get Out will soon enough despite being labeled as “inferior” by the racists. Calling this the Black Panther was certainly an interesting and purposeful (tone deaf) choice since the Black Panthers are such an interesting and inclusive political party.
What’s next? An action hero movie called the Grand Wizard about a guy who dresses in white robes and saves the downtrodden via his magical flaming cross?

Has your generation never heard of Blade or its two sequels? It was stand alone superhero movie with a person of color that came out 20 years ago (based on a Marvel comic no less).
