Last year vs UCONN for their first ever AAC tourney win against the Huskies.

Funny you mentioned that. I had a sizeable post on that exact topic last night ready to roll off the presses, but I deleted it because I think, well... CB is better absorbed in small doses. 05-ban

So yeah... top 10 IF you you aren't counting all our recent NCAA tournament games. If you count those the game slides up to the top 11-20 bracket.

Koch Arena is special though so all important games are going to be lots of fun. This feels exactly like the #10/#11 UNI-WSU game, but I obviously respect Cincy more being a brand name and having shared history during the Valley of Death days. So it's like the UNI-WSU game with whip cream added and a cherry on top.

We beat #2 Syracuse in the The Big East Tourney in MSG in 2012. That was a HUGE game on a national state and Cuse was #2.

Yeah, this is a big game coming up, but we've had bigger.

We love beating Cuse as well BC1!!02-13-banana that in a way helped us become a basketball power. We were looked at as a challenger to Cuse. it attracted lot of media attention and a great rivalry was born.

BC1 is right every other night basically in Big east play, you played a ranked or RV votes team. that's terrifying if you are trying to build a program. Its crazy that Jim was able to do that. cincy is no stranger to big games on the national stage, believe me

We love beating Syracuse too! We were paid to come to their dome and put a whipping on them like they've never seen back in 2006 in front of 25k when they were ranked.

Where has anyone said this would be the 3rd biggest win of Cronin's era? I haven't seen that discussed on a single board?

P.S. All this talk about "3rd biggest win" before Cindy even lands in Wichita has me like...

half of wsu "big wins:" are probably beating a top ten valley team that had a strength of schedule that even ECU would laugh at...

I don't make things up without receipts. First of all, you think I could pull Florida State and Syracuse out of my butt? I have zero knowledge of either of those games.

Fair enough. I must have missed those posts. It's an interesting point I guess.

I'd say it's predominantly a huge game because it is a chance to win the first outright conference title under Cronin. Obviously WSU being great this year even increases the stakes.

But for me personally, and many UC fans on Twitter/message boards, it seems conference tournament and NCAA tournament games are more important.

This is probably the biggest regular season game as far as stakes and opponent. They have had a ton of other big ones but UC typically comes up short in those situation. The home game against Louisville during Kilpatrick's senior year immediately comes to mind.

Regardless, this is a massive game and I'm certainly glad it's a national CBS game.

RE: Oath of Honor 3/4/18 - Bearcats#1 - 03-02-2018 07:52 PM

Biggest Cronin era win: #2 Syracuse in the Big East semifinal in MSG.

I don't know if this WSU is top three. Definitely top 10.

I'd have to go back and look. We beat the ACC tourney champ Florida State to get to the sweet 16 in the 2012 ncaa tourney. That is one for sure.

But we also beat some highly ranked Big East teams during our time in the Big East. Like I said I'd need to see the full list before officially ranking this WSU game.

It's a big game though, none the less.

We also beat #13 Georgetown and #8 Marquette in that tournament.

Top wins of Marshall era in no order:

-Win @ Creighton 2012 to guarantee regular season MVC title. It was a total beat down
-Beating #1 seed Gonzaga in 2013 tournament
-Beat #2 seed Ohio State in 2013 tournament to go to Final Four
-Beating Missouri State in final regular season game in 2014 for undefeated regular season
-Beating #10 UNI in 2015 to capture MVC title; ESPN game day
-Beating #2 seed KU in 2015 NCAA tournament to go to Sweet 16
-Winning @ #5 Cincy to give us a shot at regular season AAC championship

Winning tomorrow would definitely be on that list. A regular season championship in the first season would be a HUGE deal. I am not sure how to compare that to NCAA wins.

I am sure Creighton would trade a Final Four for a MVC championship in 2013.

tomorrow at this time 2/3 of the WSU posters will probably have already started on their 3day vacation...a couple may have already joined Payday in the perma-ban zone.

can't wait!

Let's hope it doesn't go that far. Irregardless of who wins, I expect a real dog fight. I don't expect to have much of a voice left at the end.:) There's a baseball game after with Nebraska. Free admission with your BB ticket stub.
