LOL at Yale @ UCONN game on Wednesday. They'll be playing in a foot of snow.

As a program, we've maybe played a total of 2 home game before the month of April.

RE: Official AAC Baseball Week 4 Discussion Thread - PirateTreasureNC - 03-05-2018 08:30 PM

Hosting College of Charleston twice ( Tue & Wed) and then a true road series @ Charlotte over the weekend.

RE: Official AAC Baseball Week 4 Discussion Thread - ShockerFever - 03-05-2018 09:43 PM

Somehow WSU is ranked #22 in the latest Collegiate Baseball poll. That's a fool gold's ranking IMO. WSU has ZERO pitching outside of our #1 and #2 starters.

We get a couple of cream puffs in the midweek with SIU-Edwardsville tomorrow and at Oral Roberts Wednesday. Then at home for 3 against UT-Arlington.

I expect some 15-13 type midweek scores.

Listened to most of the coaches show tonight. Mini-B's startin' to get some swagger - cocky even. I just hope it's for real and not a flash in the pan year that extends the misery a couple extra seasons. We do have some serious talent. Gregg Marshall is pullin' for him too. I really wanted Mini-B to work out. He's a GREAT recruiter.

ECU needs 4Ws out of 5 games this week to stay ranked for next week IMO.

I still lol at the "Mini-B" stuff. So did you find out that he's actually recruiting kids under 6-foot now? Yep, the 6' prerequisite is gone for now. Maybe that'll help us recruit some baseball players.

I'm not sure why he'd be so cocky just a little more than 24 hours after that debacle? I think it's a little early for him to be thinking everything is gravy.

I want WSU baseball to be good. I want it to be back. I'm not convinced that Todd Butler is the guy to do it. I still see the same low IQ stuff that has happened since Day 1. It's now being overshadowed by a couple of stud first-rounders that might help us eek out a few more games than we normally would. He may be a great recruiter but he's a horrible coach. That was proven at McNeese State and at WSU.

If we are a fortunate enough to get to the NCAA's this year (definitely not a guarantee), then what about next year? After the draft clears us out, we'll be down to nothing again.

It's still early. We'll see how it pans out. I'm not holding my breath.

One freakin year too late.

I'm still pissed about that kid from Sedgwick that won the Juco triple crown. The kid only turned out to be 1st team all big 12-2 and was the conference newcomer of the year and Butler DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO RECRUIT HIM! 03-hissyfit

How in the hell are we receiving votes?

We lost a friday night game to Holy Cross. We just got swept by the SEC at the Astros Classic getting blown out twice and losing in extra innings in between. We needed a 9th inning rally to beat a SWAC team. Sure, we took 2 of 3 at Fullerton but Fullerton is mediocre at best.

I think voters don't want to admit they were wrong. Go 5-0 this week and make them look like geniuses.

Damn i had high expectations for this team but we have truly fallen off a cliff this year. I guess its time to start looking forward to next year, at least we have the astros...

UC has a tough midweek game at Indiana today. According to their website -

The Hoosiers enter the week ranked in five polls. IU is ranked 12th by Collegiate Baseball, 14th by D1Baseball.com, 15th by the NCBWA, 15th by Perfect Game, and 18th by Baseball America.

RE: Official AAC Baseball Week 4 Discussion Thread - Play Angry - 03-06-2018 06:04 PM

WSU defeats SIU-E 6-1 on the strength of a very solid pitching performance.

Road game at Oral Roberts tomorrow. They have been a thorn in our side for over a decade, I never feel good heading into our games against them.

RE: Official AAC Baseball Week 4 Discussion Thread - bearcatfan - 03-06-2018 06:24 PM

UC 8 Indiana 3 Final!

The Bearcats get a big win and spoil Indiana's home opener. UC's offense came alive today with 15 hits.

UC is now 7-5 on the year.

Love it. We aren't winning championships in baseball this year, but I'm glad we're not going to be an anchor on the conference. I'll take a win against the #2 RPI.....

game with College of Charleston cancelled. There doesn't appear to be a double header for tomorrow.
