AAC Tournament Day 3: Semi-finals - KnightLight - 03-10-2018 08:38 AM
Both games today, along with the Championship Game tomorrow, will be on CBS (Jim Nance and Bill Rafferty on the call)
1 pm: #5 Memphis vs #1 Cincinnati
3:30 pm (approx): #3 Houston vs #2 Wichita State
Tickets are obviously good for both games (one session). Some lower bowl seats available for $4.

Good to see Wichita State have a strong year and make the semis this year while UConn was down. The Shockers are going to make an awfully tough out most years in the conference quarterfinals.

The conference really needed a healthy SMU or UCF in today’s mix. Would have been four NCAA - BOUND teams.

I agree. We don't need a blowout on national TV OTA.
Problem is, we never know which Memphis will show up. The one that passes the ball like crazy, hits open 3s, runs in transition, and rebounds...
...OR, the one that stands around with little movement on O, has 15+ turnovers, little energy, and can't hit the broad side of a barn.

Talked about the bump from Martin being injured and the team learning to play with out him. How you had 11 new players and it took a while but they're coming together at the right time.
Far more interesting is Memphis is getting negative responses. The studio said with a local guy who has good recruits it's hard for the fans to be patient (implying 2 years is not a good attempt). Mick Cronin ripped your fans/school and said it was ridiculous how you are treating Tubby.
You all had better pray Penny works out because if you are getting negative repped in public like this I can only imagine what coaches are saying to each other behind closed doors.
Looks like you may gamble your program away for a couple seasons bump in attendance. Of course like the announcer said a Tubby NCAA team will bring back a few fans. So maybe not even much of an attendance bump either.
