So, I came on the board to see what was happening and who's here?

IU_lauren3, Tasha, dukette34, NOLEY, georgia_tech_swagger, JoltinJacket

Now, lauren, Tasha and dukette sound like female names. I believe Noley is also a woman? In my case, the Nan in HuskyNan is short for Nancy. Are we females the majority here right now?

Why do people always look so surprised when I know the score of the football game? I not only know who Tiger Woods is, I know who Phil Mickelson is and why he's the "best who's never won a major" (except for Colin Montgomery, who should give it up already). I know the difference between a small forward and a power forward and yet I bake cookies for the PTA! I watch Davis Cup. I even rooted for Cael Sanderson to win an Espy, awesome guy that he is.

All you women who like sports - you go girls!

Count me among the femmes.

I'm from a place, though, that still doesn't really accept women as rabid sports fans -- in spite of the presence of a female sports-talk host (Amy Lawrence, who I think attended Syracuse and wound up in Oklahoma a few years ago, whose show airs on tiny Norman-based sports yakker KREF-AM). I don't know many women here who are that rabid. Then again, this is Oklahoma, where women are really not expected to be independenly enthusiastic about sports -- at least that's the perception I get from my male friends, especially since I can bend their ears under the table, particularly about baseball.

A huge attraction when it comes to guys is the fact that I know my sports. Us females who love sports have an upper-hand when it comes to things like that. Plus it's always nice to show these guys that we really do know what we're talking about.

And yes...GTS is a female. With all the BOTDs she's posted, I think she's our resident lesbian. You go girl! <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" />
