I believe Lofton ended up Tennesse's all all time leading scorer, even more than Allen Houston.
I actually think Von Hanford at Cov Cath is the better D1 prospect. He has offers from schools like NKU, Winthrop, Valpo,DePaul, and not sure who else.

"Lofton's list of schools were Tennessee, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Florida, Louisville, North Carolina State, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. The Bearcats and Vols were the only two schools to offer him a basketball scholarship. Lofton ultimately chose to play for the Vols.
During his recruitment, Lofton was waiting on Kentucky and Louisville to offer him a scholarship, but it never happened.
To this day, Lofton doesn't regret committing to Tennessee and would do it all over again if he could."
My recollection is after much consideration, UC did offer per above, but at some point told him to schit or get off the pot. Again as I recall, UL (or possibly UK) was still stringing him on so he chose to wait it out. UC moved on and offered another guy they were interested in (Tyree Evans I guess it was per above). So Lofton ended up at UT when UL didn't come through for him. He had a great career there so I'm not surprised he doesn't regret it, but I think he could have been magical at UC with his shooting and scoring ability.

RE: If UC needs a shooter
I just heard that Jake Ohmer was offered by Western Kentucky. After the performance in the State tournament scoring 106 points in 3 games.
I talked to his dad on Saturday so this just happened on Sunday or today. Jake got a 24 on his ACT according to his father.
Good luck Jake.

UC "slow played" Lofton
He was UC's if they wanted him.
Oleskl and I talked to his Dad for awhile @ the Bob Gibbons tournament.
If UC would have offered then he would have been a Bearcat
UK & Louisiville also didn't offer him
UC waited to long and lost him to the Vols.
pretty sure he was a spring signing

RE: If UC needs a shooter
Lofton and Dustin Grutza were best friends from childhood, and won a lot of football and basketball games as teammates at Mason County High. There is no question Lofton would have jumped at a UC offer and the chance to spend 4 years of college with Grutza. Huggs thought he was too slow and not a good fit. A lot of others made the same mistake.
Honestly would have loved to see what his career would have looked like if he decided to go the football route instead. Thought he had NFL potential as a WR...
