Your argument is risible. They did it on purpose and you know it. They had a chance to fix it and instead chose to affirm that discrimination. And that was a conscious decision by the NC GOP as well.

My argument is fact based, not a dramatized interpretation twisted to fit a predetermined point of view. Start boycotting the federal laws if you really want change. NC law is based off of an in line with federal non discrimination laws.

Because that's the federal law. You are speaking in very broad generalizations, as well as being less than 100% truthful. Sexual orientation an gender identity are protected classes for state employees, AND private businesses may set their own non-discrimination policies.



The above map is old, outdated, and poorly worded since it was created with an obvious slant, but I'm hoping you at least have the moral decency to be protesting as loudly against the other 28 states and thousands of other cities that share the same protections (and in some cases less) than what the people of Charlotte and every other NC town and city have.

As for being denied service at a hotel or restaurant, everyone here and the vast majority of people around the country recognize the pointless rhetoric and extreme exaggeration you are using. If one were to take your comments as an indicator of the frequency of alleged acts occurring, ne would think gays are forced to be shut in, or to wear a scarlet letter, or otherwise completely segregated from the general population. Your whining is boring. Post the countless examples of gays being denied a hotel room or meal at a restaurant or please just shut up about it.

Hardly. the GOP chose to protect and affirm the basic right to privacy and safety by not allowing a poorly written ordinance to stand that would give perverts the ability to freely walk into women's restrooms and changing rooms. It has been clearly stated time and time again that the concern is for those that would abuse the freedoms in the ordinance in order to prey on women and children and not of gay people.

There are several documented cases of laws like the Charlotte ordinance being abused.

Facts are facts.

If "facts were facts" as you say, you would post citations and examples rather than hyperbole.

We are talking about North Carolina's laws. Federal law is irrelevant here. How many NC GOP co-sponsors of the Equality Act? Zero.

You got nothing.

But for the NC GOP, discrimination in Charlotte would be illegal. They went into an emergency session for the specific purpose of ensuring that people could continue to fire people for being Gay. And then when they went back into session, they rejected any attempt to restore those protections or enact them on a state level. They actually went further than that by preventing any municipality to enact laws to protect LGBT persons.

The existence of discriminatory policies elsewhere or the lack of Federal Protections (due to GOP opposition btw) does not excuse NC not passing those protections. Nor does it excuse NC blocking those protections on a state level.

Spin it however you want.

Why does NC get more grief than other places? Because North Carolina acted on it. And by doing so AFFIRMED and ENDORSED discrimination against LGBT persons.
