I agree the people that placed her definitely wanted to use her to debunk his thoughts. But in terms of the team she seems open enough to the possibility if she fot the proof.

It's been a while since I watched the series but FWIW she always had a rational explanation for the supernatural (ghosts, monsters, etc) but CSM and Alien conspiracies were the storylines that slowly began to crack her grounded disbelief.
