I don't like the opening credits. anything is better than Enterprise's intro, lol I don't like the excessive Klingon. agree Plug in the universal translator already. I have to defend the show a little here as when any Klingon talks to a human, the UT is used and it's translated...but why would two native Klingon speakers use the UT? That's very Bryan Fuller. The story has been good. Not as dark as I expected.

I think the personal relationships are there - like when Michael gives Saru a hip-check to so she can use the terminal he is at. A moment later he does the same thing to get the terminal back. At one point Saru explains his race was at one time basically livestock. Odd, considering he is 7-feet tall and weighs 82 pounds.

Another example is when the captain says something like, "Make a note in the log: On this day my senior officers actually agreed." Michael responds with, "Is sarcasm necessary?" The captain replies, "Necessary? No."

I am not a fan of Abrams Star Trek. If you take away the names, does anything in any of his Trek movies remind you of Star Trek? They are good movies, just not Star Trek. A bit OT there but it really bugs me. I kinda disagree because I enjoyed Star Trek (2009) and Beyond...They did a good job of casting the roles and showing the Kirk-Spock-Bones relationship. I felt like Pine, Quinto, and Urban nailed their roles but so did Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, and Simon Pegg. That said, while I didn't much care for 'Into Darkness'...it made a crap ton of money (which was what Trek needed)

JMHO.

I actually liked the Enterprise intro. Being a self-proclaimed history nut, I enjoyed the brief synopsis of travel through the ages.

I get the use of the Klingon. I just feel there is too much of it. I hate to read movies/TV shows. A little goes a long way. That first episode had enough for a 10-year run. It is nice that they pay enough attention to realize it is Klingon to Klingon but they overlook enough other stuff that they can afford to overlook this.

I thought the Abrams movies were good but they did not embody the spirit of Star Trek.
