Really?

Basketball has this problem because in addition to having a 68 team tournament they also have conference tournaments including all of D1. It ends up as a full month of post season basketball.

Moving to an 8 team playoff with the Top 7 and a G5 autobid isn't going to impact the regular season very much in football with only 12 regular season games.
