OK, finally saw The Dark Tower and I must say it isn't nearly as bad as the reviews made it out to be.

Part of the problem with this and for that matter anything based on a book is that people don't try and judge the movie FOR the movie, but compare it to the book. It just pisses me off when you hear people (using the Professor Frink voice) screaming "the books, THE BOOKS" criticizing movies or something like Thrones. Well, it ain't the GD book, it's the movie based on the book. If I wanted to read the GD book I would have, instead, I chose to see the movie and I'll judge it based on the quality of the MOVIE, not on whether some pointdexter who (using Prof. Frink again) "read the book".

Bottom line is that since I didn't "read the f-ing books", I had no preconceived notions of the movie and based on that, I found it to be pretty entertaining.
