When arkstfan suggested CUSA would take UConn and UC for football only I thought no way, but if UConn, UC, Mem and Temple all came together wanting FB only maybe it would make sense.

I dont think those teams want to sell out thier football just to elevate basketball a bit. They would be better off staying put in a solid nBE basketball league and upgrading thier basketball OOC. That way, their football wouldnt have to take a step back just to get a better basketball schedule.

But would their football be taking a step back compared to CA13? Think of the dominoes that would follow this move.

If they wanted to play UTSA and North Texas they would have joined the Sunblet. Yes, it would be a significant step back. Foofball still drives the bus. Its silly to think they would rather play games against a first year Charolette team rather than Boise, FSU, and UCF--especially considering that nBE basketball is pretty decent. They can easily set up OOC games against the C7 AND maintain thier current conference affilliation. No current or prospective Big East member is going to CUSA. The truth is CUSA is in for some tough years until thier new programs develop and progress. Long run, they have the potential be just fine, but they are going to struggle for the next decade or so.
