Funny story... so way back in the day... I want to say Christmas 1984, when I got my first real stereo that had a record player and a tape deck I also got via my parents for Christmas his Purple Rain soundtrack. I thought to myself, I have seen Prince on MTV...I kind of know his deal... how did my parents get that for me!

I personally like a lot of his "hits" but don't own any actual albums of his. I have his 2 volume hits disc he put out a while back--covers most of what I like of his.

I don't think anyone else could pull off his style and style of music. He's like soul + rock + r&b + pop and with the flair of funk.

Oh man, PT. I bought almost everything of his on vinyl back in the day. Still have most of the 12" records too. There was some wild stuff he did back then. Saw the Purple Rain tour and that was tha bomb! Shelia E. opened for him.
