The House of the Rising Sun" is a traditional folk song, sometimes called "Rising Sun Blues". It tells of a life gone wrong in New Orleans; many versions also urge a sibling to avoid the same fate. The most successful commercial version, recorded in 1964 by the British rock group the Animals, was a number one hit on the UK Singles Chart and also in the United States and Canada. As a traditional folk song recorded by an electric rock band, it has been described as the "first folk-rock hit" This version by Heavy Young Heathens (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_Y... very good and plays in the trailer of the movie The Magnificent Seven.

Not my words above but a good description. This video is a compromise that shows good action of the movie but doesn't include the slow beginning of the song which is very good too.

This song has deep roots for me growing up in La. as it was extremely popular.
