I been listening to several of my old tapes with the older kiddos this past year. First, it's fun to watch then get the hang of using the tape mechanism. At first they aren't used to the time lag to change songs, which is kind of hilarious to see their impatience (yeah, we actually had to WAIT 20-30 WHOLE SECONDS to hear the next song if we FF, ha, ha!) Second, It had been a while since I'd pulled some of them out and I forgot how much time I had spent on and what good stuff I had on my mixtapes. I still have many cases of tapes, with some custom artwork to boot! A lot of this stuff is out of print and hard to find, though even some of the old mainstream stuff I'd recorded off the radio was fun (and remembered some of the old DJ segments and the old radio station call signs)! Similar to when I got the record player going and the kids discovered how fun it is to listen to stuff at 45 speed! Good times!
