Bringing back the emperor and all the fan service was dumb and predictable but Abrams really had no choice after what the last bum did to Snoke and the franchise. I think he mostly rescued it in the end. Unfortunately Luke's arc was pretty much ruined and the movie he was the focus of I think now gets skipped over.

Pretty much spot on.

I saw the film las night. It was about as good as possible given the last movie.
Pretty much. Compared to TLJ it is The Godfather. It's an okay movie. A decent star wars. But the best of the current trilogy by 100 fold.
