Episode 3 took it from whatever grade you had before to A+. I literally had chills. That's everyone's worst nightmare, let lone Obi's. But that sickened, oh ****, look on his face nailed it. Like when you have to walk home past the school bully's house.

Yeah, there's a lot going on here. The contrast between how incredibly powerful Annakin has become at this point as Vader and how ill-prepared and weakened Obi-Wan is. Not physically necessarily (though that too) but in his training, light saber skills, force abilities, etc. Before Annakin never would have been able to throat choke OBW.

After 10 years of carrying the load of losing the war, losing Annakin, being relegated to nothing more than a day laborer and - he himself - having lost hope, OBW is not the same person he was at the end of the Episode III. Not even close. He is a fraction of his former self at this point.

I think people probably though OBW would still be doing badass things as this point, but this makes so much more sense. To see how the Empire has ravaged life and livelihoods and how feared and powerful Vader is at this point is truly fascinating to get to see this part of the story come to life.

One has to wonder if all this time he's heard stories of Vader and didn't know it was Anakin...
