Yeah, I can't speak to their situation. However, Pitt Stadium was really cool. If anyone has ever been to Notre Dame Stadium, it was a very similar design.

Of course it was rarely full like Notre Dame Stadium always is, and it had fallen into disrepair after decades of neglect. However, when you walked into Pitt Stadium you could just feel the history and tradition.

You can't really replace that.

Honestly, Heinz Field has not been as bad as I feared. I don't think it's a perfect solution but I sometimes think that it's opponents overstate it as a problem. It definitely has far better amenities and the parking situation is 10 times better.

Parking at a Pitt game when it was at Pitt Stadium was a *****. You would walk up a giant hill into the stadium that the locals derisively called "Cardiac Hill" because of all of the heart attacks that had taken place over the years while Pitt fans were en route to home games.

Also, the area where the University of Pittsburgh is located is called Oakland and it is the third largest commerce area in the state of Pennsylvania - behind only downtown Pittsburgh and Center City Philadelphia. Oakland also basically has just a few ways in and out. Therefore, getting to and especially from a Pitt football game when they played on campus was definitely a challenge.

Look, I think they should play on campus as well. Also, as I said earlier, I think tearing down Pitt Stadium was ultimately a mistake. However, it was definitely a 55-45 decision either way. It was never as simple as people make it out to be.
