As far as the movies go, I find most of the "originals" decent to good. Yes, some were stronger than others, but aside from the Generations one in which I hated without question, they were all at least watchable. I really like all three of the new movies as I think that cast has some of the best chemistry yet in keeping that original TV Star Trek vibe that I liked.

the USS Discovery is actually based on a design from the 70s by Ralph Mcquarrie for an abandoned Star Trek series called 'Planet of the Titans'
