We need to sit down and figure out how to stop spending. There are only two ways, military and entitlements. Both must be cut.

As far as military, we are spending bazillions developing the most deadly and amazing weapons we've ever seen....the plans of which are then promptly stolen by our enemies at negligible cost. We then have to spend gazillions more to counteract our own stuff. Rinse and repeat.

Everyone knows about entitlements.

How do you wean off of that without harming defense or the economy?

It is going to come back down to earth someday. Its just a matter of how fast and at what angle.
