MWC and AAC would be really close with this move. There would be an absolute line of seperation though between top 8 conferences and everyone else.

The WCC without Gonzaga? Yikes. They are already #13 with them. The other 9 teams were only 52-50 vs D1 teams OOC. There's a big gap this year between 13 WCC and 14 WAC. Then a .0057 gap between WAC and CUSA. But the gap between #15 CUSA and #20 OVC- only .0051. So they could easily slip into the abyss- and most likely would if this move forced BYU to do something.

As far as Gonzaga and the impact of the SOS. Just using ESPN's RPI ratings, which has conference SOS for individual teams...
Gonzaga conference SOS 186th
Nevada conference SOS 121st

as to the impact of going from 10 teams to 12 teams.
Gonzaga conference SOS 186th
Wichita conference SOS 72nd(was 182nd last year in MVC) (with a game left vs Cincy)

for Nevada- what kind of impact for them:
Cincy conference SOS last year was 111th(in 11 team league)
Cincy conference SOS this year is 65th(and they still have to play Wichita again)

Shows just how huge this would be for Gonzaga. And how much it would really help Nevada and the others in the MWC.

You'll have some programs who will go out and schedule tough in the non-conference; those foragers are good for any conference if they win.

For Gonzaga, it's the peace of mind knowing you can be off a night and it not costing you as dearly for it. The margin for error has become so narrow for non-majors over the years...it's going to get worse, and that b-l-o-w-s for a Gonzaga, who's only fault is playing in a conference where at least half of the membership couldn't give a **** about placing a competitive team onto the court.
