With the right facilities that's another good central point for the most teams.

A flight to Nashville costs the same as a flight to Dallas for us. Difference is people can actually drive if they want to. It's a 20 hour drive to Dallas.

Yeah, drivability is big. When you are bringing the family and have to purchase multiple plane tickets, it becomes unreasonable for most people. 10 hour drive to Nashville is doable, but not really a decision that can reasonably be made on Friday evening after winning the semis for a Saturday game and too far to plan ahead and wind up going home if you bow out early unless we were in the position that we are getting a bid regardless and can enjoy the tournament no matter what happens (it has been 7 years since we have been in that position). Honestly, I wouldn't go because I have gotten too old to decide to make a 10 hour drive at 7:00 on a Friday night and have anything left in the tank on Saturday or for a drive home after an extra night in a hotel. Charlotte is definitely preferable to Nashville. I could definitely still do 5 hours on a Saturday and possibly even back after the game without spending the night or at least some of the way back and stay at a Red Roof off the interstate for $50 instead of a Charlotte uptown priced hotel... and my son would be down for it.
