Irrelevant. Alabama/Auburn have the allegiance of every Alabaman. Notre Dame gets all the Catholics. BYU gets all the Mormons.

But both UH and Rice draw from the same three sources: Greater Houston, alumni, and students. In 2 of the three UH has a big edge - five to ten times. If they drew five times the amount Rice drew last year, they would draw over 50K. Not getting it done. So comparing Rice and UH only, my statement stands. Comparing Alabama and say, S. Miss, who cares?

Perhaps if you have a winning season more than once every five years, or had won a bowl game in the past 50 years, you would pull in the locals.

OK, that's Rice's problem with the locals. Now what is UH's? They have done as you said, and still don't get the support.

And they still have us way outnumbered in the alumni and student categories, so what is your point?

My point is that they aren't getting letters threatening to demote them to I-AA like your school is.

And my point is that they should be getting 5X to 7X our attendence, regardless of what our attendence is, based on their larger alumni base and student body. And they aren't.

It appears we aren't even debating the same point.

Yeah, I'd probably try to change the point of debate too, if I were you. ;-)

Does anybody else wonder why some TCU fans are obsessed with Rice?

I also wonder if they're old enough to remember when TCU went through almost exactly what we're going through now.

Working the quote function is just so dang nabbit complicated ain't it? ;-)

I like that 12 word maximum word wrap you having going, brings your posts their own special, barely literate flair.

Though 10,000 isn't good, it is 100% of the living alumni we have in the greater Houston Area... a metro area of roughly 5mm. It is also roughly 4 times our undergraduate population... Can anyone name 1 single school (and they may be able to) who draws 100% of their local alumni and 4 times their undergraduate population?? chirp... chirp... chirp...

Rice will have NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER drawing 15,000 this season, and likely substantially more. Maybe we should look at how poorly many of our conference-mates travel to the 4th largest city in the country. The door swings both ways. Some of you aren't out-drawing your student parking lot.

Attendance smack is for losers...
