Well, the 2004 season has produced absolutely nothing in four contests except an 0-2 conference record making the Blue Raiders dead last in the standings, an 0-4 record all-time versus North Texas, and three-straight home opening losses to 1-AA teams.
MTSU has seven weeks left on the season and there won't be a bye week in there anywhere.
November 20th is the last game of the season, and by the end of that day all of the Middle Tennessee Doomsday prophecies should be fulfilled.
And here are those prophecies and their significances:
1. October 16th at Florida will be the worst loss in school history surpassing the 69-0 loss to Vanderbilt in 1926.
2. October 16th at Florida, the Gators will put more points on the Blue Raiders than any other team in MTSU's history surpassing the 70 points Murray State hung on MTSU in 1933.
3. 0-8. This is what Middle Tennessee's conference record will look like at the end of the year.
4. 1-10. This is what Middle Tennessee's total record will look like at the end of the year. This record will make only the sixth time is school history that MTSU has only won one game in a season. The last time was in Boots Donnelly's first year as head coach in 1979.
5. 1-10. One win and ten losses will be the worst record in school history by yielding the lowest winning percentage in a single season.
6. 117th. This will be MTSU's season-ending rank in Division 1-A.
7. 117th. This will be MTSU's season-ending rank in attendance in all of Division 1-A.
8. #2. This will be MTSU's rank on ESPN's Bottom 10 list by the end of the year. The sports gods believe Army will be #1 on that list.
Let us not be taken by surprise in the fulfillments of the prophecies, for these things MUST happen. Change will not occur unless the prophecies are fulfilled.

Dadgum, Semper.
It's not the end of the world.
We suck, yes, but we should have the best basketball program this year that we've had in 15 years. Things could be worse.
I think we'll win 3 or 4 games this year.
We'll beat Idaho and Monroe, and we might sneak up on Arkansas State and Utah State.

I hope you are right KA. I won't spell out the end of the world like Semper did but it is pretty gloom. At this point I am guessing 4 and 7. This will get Andy fired and probably Boots.
What happened to the Delphi board? I haven't been able to get onto it for 2 days.

If we have a bad season in football, Andy McCollum will be replaced.
A couple of folks thought last year it might be better to go 3-8 or 4-7 than to go 6-5 or 7-4 this season, because it would mean we get a chance to restart this program with a new coach, one who knows how to coach and is emotionally capable of directing a 1A program and fighting through adversity.
I think Andy is toast. I do not see anyway he recovers, however unfortunate for the short term that may be. Long term we may have to suffer this one more bad season to get the change that has been needed for at least the last two seasons.
As someone closely connected to the football program stated recently, it is the darkest before the dawn and the Sun may be rising on the program in just a few more weeks.
I'm tempted to go the Homecoming on halloween weekend masquerading as a pink slip, just for Andy.

I wish you guys well, we Cajuns know what it is like to suffer with a bad coach. Hopefully your recovery time will not take as long as ours did. I wonder what may have been at MT with all that talent that has been there in recent years if only a quality coach had been there to lead.

Seems like about half the delphi forums are down due to a hardware problem. I am hoping for a fix in the next day or so but do not have anything to base that hope on. It is being worked by the delphi folks, but that is no solace for all of us going through withdrawals.

Well guys, someone said, it could be worse, and thats definitly the truth. Im not bashing ULM (As I like their fans), but they are going through one hell of a time. Their still winless, their Basketball program isnt one of the better in the southland, Baseball is alright, but still down, atleast yall have a great up and coming basketball team and an awesome baseball team, not to mention after andy mccollum gets fired, your Football team will be on the way up again.

Damn boy, you sound like Nostradamus. Next thing you know you will be predicting the outcome of the election. Look into your crystal ball, what are the winning numbers for tomorrow night. LOL
