Yall are being ridiculously poor sports about this. Yes OUR Ath Dept messed up in not making that stipulation in the first place that you be from Alabama, however, it's not like UAB tickets cost and arm and a leg in the first place... that's just plain old cheap. To be upset that free tickets have been removed from your taking... is that unreasonable? Not at all. Get over it and buy a dang ticket or dont come at all... we dont care. We're not in that much danger at all of those new NCAA stipulations. Since 1997, our per game attendance average has been above the required 15,000 and not since has it dipped below this level.

Hackney is the best QB in Alabama ...the only one close is Brodie Croyle. Virtually every big name school wanted Hackney before he was injured in high school. The only thing that changed was him getting a knee injury and any idiot knows that big schools back off recruits after knee injuries. You guys have shown terribly poor sportsmanship towards UAB (and not EVEN talking about this ticket thing in particular) ...I've known that since last year when UAB beat yall.

when they answer say you signed up fpr free tickets through the Alabama Power give away and want to make sure you will recieve your tickets!!!

(edit) it might be a good idea to not mention what school you cheer for.

Go Tigers!!!

There is no need to flood them with calls. If the don't deliver the tickets, then you can flood them, but let's give the people in their office a break...they aren't used to taking many calls.
Well ...and of course you have to take into account the amount of time it'll take to translate the Memphis hick-talk.

I wasn't going to be upset. I just wanted to know if I should save up for the $10 for 2 tickets come gameday.

Give me a break...UAB doesn't have enough fans to fill up half of that stadium.
That's right... and if you're cheap enough to want to come to the game NOW that you've gotten free tickets and not before, then so be it. We arent going to sell out the stadium... as I said, we'll still get any parking $$ and refreshments $$ from your wallets. It also isnt going to matter how many fans you bring, but I still dont see any way yall would bring more than 10,000 fans. You can count on more than 10,000 Blazer fans being there. Even if by some extremely unlikely event that yall had more fans ...it wouldnt matter ...see last year's UAB vs Memphis score at yall's house.

Really? Because Alabama is more hick? How's that? Ohhh ...cause we're further south than yall, I see. So Georgia should be as hick as us, Florida is more hick than us, and yall are more hick than Kentucky? Riight. Tennessee is notoriously redneck (as much if not more than Alabama). I have personal friends from Tenn. that say our accents are nothing compared to some of those up there. Yall just all have your panties in a wad over not getting free tickets. Go call and whine to mommy now.

No I really dont. You say we're whining. All we did is stop the giving away of free tickets. YALL started whining about it. If you got a free ticket, good for you... if not, then pay the stupid ticket price or whatever you can get them for. All we did was stop it... I dont expect yall would've done anything different if there were free Memphis tickets floating around either.

Oh yeah, the promotional code is "mtow".
<a href='http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=26211600904' target='_blank'>Link to Free UAB vs Memphis tickets</a>
This has to be to the most low-life, immature action I have ever seen Memphis fans take a part of.

hvstiger, you should be ashamed. I can't believe you would willingly take advantage of free tickets that were offered for UAB fans. What a lack of respect on your part.

I hope the majority of Memphis fans are better than this.

Blazersax,

Are you a MORON?

Bad question on my part....

What kind of Moron are you?

What is wrong with ordering tickets from UAB?

Wait I'll answer, ...............................Not a thing....

If we were desperate to give away tickets we would welcome your inclusion on the free ticket give away.

Why would'nt we?

We are not the cause of your poor attendance. Many of our fans would rather pay less for their tickets if given the choice and free is even better.

IF we charged UAB fans $50 for visitors' tickets and you bought online from the University for $20, We would call you smart and welcome you to Memphis.

I totally do not understand your rage at this!!!!!!!!!!

As for the smack talk about UAB you will find that before your moronic post it was basically non-existant. We respect Uab's program in general; but statements like that will always draw flames. I just wish they we more aimed at your misguided self.

Wait........ That's it you are a mis-guided Moron.

I thought that Hackney was the best QB we went up against in conference play, certainly better than those bums you mentioned.

No. I dont blame you for jumping on the offer when you heard since they're free. It makes to sense to get something for free. BUT, when we cut off the free tickets, there's no reason to make a big deal over it. I mean to a certain extent, I see nothing wrong with giving away free tickets, except for the comments you do make. You DO have a lack of respect for UAB and that was evident in your joking, sacastic comments on the "cheapness" of UAB tickets. Dont expect THAT not to draw a flame.

YOu are right I hope nobody is mad that we cannot STILL get free tickets

I think that the only concern I or others have is that they honor the deal that was made before the deal was changed ( which UAB had every right to do)

You seem to be an intellegent person, I would never mention "cheapness" of UAB tickets but if the subject ever comes up it is hard not to think of them as cheap, especially when it seems that free giveaways are every year.

Granted, but that doesnt make it right to treat it as such. UAB is a young school and an even younger athletic program and football team. To everything I've heard, everyone that got theirs BEFORE the stipulation was added should indeed get their tickets. You did not call it cheap yourself, but whenever that does happen, dont expect a UAB person to sit there and smile and nod.

What is not completely accurate about the comment about UAB tickets being cheap? No one is complaining that the free tickets were cut off. We were simply saying that (1) before the cut off time, all requests should be honored and (2) UAB is sad for having to give away free tickets in mass quantities.
