Actually, make that two L's versus the Heels this century.

While I won't belittle the Pirate fan about ECU's prospects at playing in BCS bowls in coming years, I will say that those are awfully bold statements coming from a fan of a team that has been either the worst or second worst team in the state for half a dozen years now. Even during UNC's darkest age in football, we've been to two bowls and twice finished third in the ACC. During one of our worst years ever, we still managed to defeat the Pirates on their home turf.

It's pretty pathetic for ECU to have the record they've had lately playing against the competition they have. At least UNC, State, Wake, and dook can say they've been playing Miami, FSU, Virginia Tech, etc. every year.

ECU can make a comeback in football, but it's going to take a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck (finding a better conference). If I were a Pirate fan, I would first worry about dominating (or at least competing in) C-USA before even thinking about moving to a better conference.
